What type of mobile phone do I need?
Any txt-capable mobile phone registered with a New Zealand mobile network can be used for Txt banking.  
Will Txt banking work with my mobile network provider?
All New Zealand mobile networks are covered for receiving txt balances and money transfer confirmations.

What happens if my mobile runs out of power, or I lose coverage in the middle of a request?
If your mobile runs out of power or you lose coverage
after sending your txt—you’ll receive your balance or money transfer confirmation as soon as your phone is charged or you’re back in coverage
  Note: You will receive your account balance as at the time you txted your request.
before sending your txt—try again when your phone is charged or you’re back in coverage.

What happens if my mobile is lost or stolen?
If the mobile you have registered for Txt banking is lost or stolen
report the loss of your mobile to your mobile network provider—they can block/suspend your phone from unauthorised use
you can also cancel any of your Banking on your mobile services and re-register at no cost once you have your mobile back.

Note: You can currently only get account balances and transfer money between two of your Westpac accounts by txt with Txt banking. If anyone finds your mobile, they can’t withdraw money from your nominated account using this service.

How quickly will I get my account balance or money transfer confirmation back after I send a txt request?
In most cases, your balance or transfer confirmation should be sent back to you within 5 seconds.
Due to mobile network loading, it may sometimes take longer.

My mobile won’t let me send or receive Txt banking requests —what should I do?
Please talk to your mobile network provider if problems with your mobile prevent you from sending or receiving Txt banking requests.
