Features of Flexicover home loan insurance
Our Flexicover home loan insurance policy
can help repay your home loan if you die, or can't work because of terminal illness, total disability, redundancy, or bankruptcy
has premiums automatically adjusted to match your age and loan balance
can cover up to 8 home loans under one policy
can make your premium payments match your mortgage payments.
What can Flexicover home loan insurance pay?
Home loan insurance can repay your Westpac home loan if you die, or are diagnosed as terminally ill.
It can also pay the standard regular payments if you become
totally disabled - for up to 30 months. At the end of the 30 months, if you can’t perform certain daily living activities, your loan can be repaid in full
involuntarily redundant or bankrupt - for up to six months.
If joint home loan customers apply for insurance
you'll get a discount and extra benefits e.g. Flexicover can pay out twice if you both die—or are disabled—at the same time.
Payments will generally start 42 days after you become totally disabled, or should you be made redundant they will start after 42 days, or after the period covered by your redundancy pay (whichever is the longest).
30 Day Free Look
You are entitled to a free look period of 30 days from the date you receive your Westpac Bill Protection policy document.
If you decide this cover is not for you within the free look period, please advise Westpac Life in writing (PO Box 27031, Wellington) and we’ll refund any premiums you’ve paid.
