Three steps to registering for Business Online
If you are a Westpac customer with at least one business transaction account, you can follow these three steps to register for Business Online.
Step one—decide who will use Business Online
Before registering for Business Online, the account owner needs to assign a role for each required user—administrators, authorisers, creator/viewers
> more information on user roles
An administration rule needs to be selected
Select single or dual administration. Dual administration requires a second administrator to authorise the following changes to user access to Business Online.
issue/reset passwords
creating new creator/viewer users
assigning access rights and transaction limits
editing users details and access
deleting users who have left the company
NOTE: Administrators are automatically authorises as well.
By requiring a second Administrator to verify any changes to users, you increase your security and decrease the risk of internal fraud.
An authorisation rule also needs to be selected
this defines how many authorisers are required to fully approve online transactions
choose either one, two or three to authorise
consider size and complexity of your business, number of existing signatories and the signing authority that the business currently operates under
the authorisation rule must at least match the signing rule on the accounts loaded e.g. if two signatories are required for cheques then the "two to authorise" rule must be selected for Business Online
Note: creating a payment and authorising a payment are two separate steps in Business Online
Step two—technical requirements for Business Online
> check you have the correct technical requirements for Business Online
Step three—Business Online application form
Business Online application form and ID
complete the Business Online application form
identification is required for authorisers and administrators to comply with the Financial Transactions Reporting Act 1996. They can be identified either by:
A. being an existing signatory on the organisation's accounts or,
B. providing a copy of their photo ID, certified (signed and dated) by one of the authorised people completing the application.

account owner(s) e.g. director, partner or officer must sign the completed form
the account owner must return the completed documentation to a branch or their Business Banking Manager to verify identity.

Logging in to Business Online for the first time
Westpac sets up your nominated administrators and authorisers during registration
Administrators will be phoned by the Business Online Helpdesk with their login details
Administrators will then have to provide Authorisers with their login details
nominated authorisers and administrators will be set up with the default of full access to all accounts and functions.
